IT Support Engineer
G3 Global are looking for a junior IT Support Engineer with experience in desktop and application support.
The role will involve a number of responsibilities including:
- Operating the helpdesk for internal and external requests
- Communicating directly with business users and external customers
- Resolving desktop and software issues directly
- Escalating software issues to 2nd and 3rd line support engineers where appropriate
- Dealing with 3rd party vendors to resolve issues
In order to fulfil this requirement the candidate should have a suitable qualification or experience that satisfies the requirements as outlined below:
Requirements
- MCSE or equivalent
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Solid understanding of using & administering Windows (XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008)
- Working knowledge of configuring popular web browsers
- Using & administering Microsoft Office
- Networking design and administration
- Problem solving / analytical thinking ability
- Responsibility, maturity & commitment in completing tasks
- Good time management
- Flexibility to work out of hours when required
Advantageous
- Some basic programming experience (any language / platform)
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, and/or SharePoint
- Configuring security in Windows (security policies, NTFS, etc.)
- Experience with web servers (IIS / Apache)
