IT Support Engineer

G3 Global are looking for a junior IT Support Engineer with experience in desktop and application support.

The role will involve a number of responsibilities including:

  • Operating the helpdesk for internal and external requests
  • Communicating directly with business users and external customers
  • Resolving desktop and software issues directly
  • Escalating software issues to 2nd and 3rd line support engineers where appropriate
  • Dealing with 3rd party vendors to resolve issues

In order to fulfil this requirement the candidate should have a suitable qualification or experience that satisfies the requirements as outlined below:

Requirements

  • MCSE or equivalent
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Solid understanding of using & administering Windows (XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008)
  • Working knowledge of configuring popular web browsers
  • Using & administering Microsoft Office
  • Networking design and administration
  • Problem solving / analytical thinking ability
  • Responsibility, maturity & commitment in completing tasks
  • Good time management
  • Flexibility to work out of hours when required

Advantageous

  • Some basic programming experience (any language / platform)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, and/or SharePoint
  • Configuring security in Windows (security policies, NTFS, etc.)
  • Experience with web servers (IIS / Apache)
