The whole process from Application through to Audit wasn’t without it’s challenges, specifically around our adoption of Solution Manager Service Desk. What most impressed me as Project Manager was how well we measured up on the many criteria was were assessed against, and in most cases we exceeded the standard set by SAP. Our focus on Service Excellence and our commitment to provide our customers with a high level of customer support was easily demonstrated.

That’s right, just 12 weeks from workshop and initial requirements gathering; right the way through Training, UAT and now we are in the Go-live support phase.
Using just a small team of 3 consultants (1 project manager, 1 finance consultant and 1 logistics consultant), G3 Global were able to help this business take advantage of SAP’s Finance module, while also utilising the benefits of Sales and Purchasing processes, that are all tracked and reported on using WBS elements managed using the Project Systems module. The key to this rapid implementation was the use of SAP’s Best Practice Industry templates. By utilising these and applying to a brand new customer, the solution was more than 75% configured, with the remaining 25% of configuration and set up only needed due to some Organisational structure differences and delta’s identified during the workshop phase that needed to be accommodated.
Another key driver in the success of this project was the involvement of key users from the initial workshop phase. They were able to see SAP, understand how the different modules integrate with each other and also have input into decisions made around how processes can work for their job roles.
This insight at such an early stage allowed easier training using G3 Global’s out of the training documentation as they were familiar with screen layouts and the common tools available in every screen.
At the time of writing we are now 17 days after go-live and all is calm. A huge achievement given the time frame, and a great success story to prove that SAP is no longer just for the huge multinational organisation, but for Small Enterprises as well.
