G3 Global announce the Go-Live of JohnsonDiversey Supply Chain and Profit Hunt Initiatives
In early 2007 G3 Global were commissioned to deliver the following projects as part of Global and EMA wide supply chain and profit hunt initiatives.
The first stage of the project was the Migration of the Northern Ireland customer base to Dublin based subsidiary (with integration to a 3rd party distributor in Southern Ireland).
Project ‘Moxel’ had two objectives. The first was to move to a new lower cost third party distributor which gave an SAP to SAP system integration, deriving benefits from the use of standard Idoc technology, and streamlining the system support requirements.
The second objective was to move the Northern Ireland business to be serviced by the new third party distributor in Southern Ireland, therefore reducing shipping and transport costs.
With this objective in mind G3 supplied the project management, functional & technical consultants who managed the seamless transition of amalgamating the business from two operating companies into one. G3 Global led the technical aspects of migrating from legacy systems through to the SAP to SAP interfaces even though the two systems were at different release levels. With strong established customer knowledge and extensive SAP logistics systems experience the G3 consultants were able to direct the project to ensure minimal business disruption.
The next stage of the process was the Integration of SAP with a 3rd party Process Control System and a 3rd party Production Planning and Scheduling system.
The Integration of SAP with the PROLEIT Batch Management System delivered clear and measurable benefits. It provided an integrated solution for works orders and material consumption. It also achieved Common master data, recipe management, transactional data and works order management.
G3 Global also delivered the Integration of SAP with the ORTEMS Production Scheduler module to enable two major benefits to operations. The first was the ability to evaluate Medium to Long term Capacity evaluation to enable Resource and Material availability planning.
The second benefit was short term resource based finite capacity planning optimising the flexibility of physical production line configuration, taking into consideration any constraints which may affect the plan.
G3 Global supplied the necessary business process expertise as well as the SAP functional and technical skills required to work with the business to deliver on time solutions for both initiatives.
The final stage of the project was to achieve SAP European-wide Pricing Improvement project to align with globally agreed KPI’s for management reporting out of ‘SAP Business Warehouse’.
GPR or Growth and Profitability Reporting, was implemented by JohnsonDiversey to provide a common reporting platform across all their businesses worldwide. This solution brought together key reporting data from both SAP and other legacy systems. Prior to this the business management found it difficult to analyse key areas for cost efficiency savings and maximisation of profits.
G3 Global provided functional and technical consultancy to streamline pricing across all their SAP implementations to produce a common set of reporting metrics. The existing COPA function was also re-engineered to provide the required reporting data for the central GPR Business Intelligence system. G3 Global have extensive experience with the pricing and COPA reporting functions within SAP, allied to good co-ordination skills needed to reconcile the local concerns and issues of a variety of different businesses to produce a common solution.
Says Sarah Foxcroft, Global IT Project Delivery Manager, “I have worked with G3 Global for a number of years, involving them in a project is always a weight off my mind, as I know that they will deliver a quality Solution – both on time and within agreed budget.”
SAP specialists at G3 Global are well known to JDI which has proved to be pivotal in the success of the projects. The knowledge and experience of the teams ensured that the project was delivered on time and on budget and consistent with the success of historic projects where the two companies have worked in partnership.
G3 are pleased to announce that all these projects were successfully delivered in 2007 and have been transitioned to support at JDI, so continuing our proven delivery at JDI and enablement of the ERP solution in line with the strategic business objectives.
“It was our use of experienced SAP resource which had previously worked at JDI and the already established trusted partnership that was a key factor to the delivery of the work in 2007” commented John Reynoldson the G3 program manager.
